300 is a 2007 American fantasy action film based on the 1998 comic series of the same nameby Frank Miller. It is a fictionalized retelling of the Battle of Thermopylae. The film was directed by Zack Snyder, while Miller served as executive producer and consultant. It was filmed mostly with a super-imposition chroma key technique, to help replicate the imagery of the original comic book.

The plot revolves around King Leonidas , who leads 300 Spartans into battle against Persian "god-King" Xerxes and his army of more than one million soldiers. As the battle rages, Queen Gorgo (Lena Headey) attempts to rally support in Sparta for her husband. The story is framed by a voice-over narrative by the Spartan soldier Dilios(David Wenham). Through this narrative technique, various fantastical creatures are introduced, placing 300 within the genre of historical fantasy.

300 was released in both conventional and IMAX theaters in the United States on March 9, 2007, and on DVD, Blu-ray, and HD DVD on July 31, 2007. The film's opening was the 24th largest in box office history, although critics were divided over its look and style. Some acclaimed it as an original achievement, while others criticized it for favoring visuals overcharacterization and its controversial depiction of the ancient Persians.

The buzz was rife that actress Deepika Padukone could do anything to work with her dream superstar Rajinikanth due to which she had also reportedly dumped Race 2. 
Deepika was supposed to get tanned for Rajini’s Kochadaiyaan. But refuting all such rumours, the co-producer of the film said that there is no question of darkening Dippy.


A leading daily reports, the co-producer revealed that since Dippy came down to Chennai for a look ad texture test, people misunderstood it. In fact the film’s shooting is likely to start from the middle of March at the Pinewood Studios in the UK.

YouTube has loads of goodies in store for movie buffs. The online video sharing site launched  ‘ YouTube Box Office‘ today, where movie lovers can watch a premium blockbuster movie every month, absolutely free of cost.

The latest Bollywood hit ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’, starring Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma, would be the first movie to be screened on YouTube Box Office. Users can watch all the popular movies, available in YouTube’s catalogue that includes over 1500 titles including regional language films. The movie can be seen in a number of resolutions up to 1080p HD. With videos on the making of the film, quizzes and contests, the YouTube Box Office will take movie watching to a whole new level, making it more social and interactive to the audience.

To make this initiative a successful one, YouTube is roping in leading film production houses.”We are working with the companies to fulfill business needs, from securing global distribution to marketing films, creating new business models around old content, and engaging with fans,” Gautam Anand, Director ( Content Partnerships ) of YouTube Japan-APAC, told the Economic Times. The source of revenue will be mainly advertising .

YouTube has already got a movies section where users can watch a number of movies for free, but  most of those movies are not the popular ones. YouTube BoxOffice plans to bring bigger banner films online. This new move of YouTube can not only earn the site more subscribers, but also curb the problem of piracy that has been a matter of serious concern for Indian film industry.

Balakrishna's Adhinayakudu movie was launched long back. It ran into trouble during the production stage and Balakrishna moved on to do Sri Rama Rajyam movie. By then this film's shoot was almost complete.

The producer had to wait until Balakrishna is done with Sri Rama Rajyam. As there is no business craze for this movie, he is happy to come after Sri Rama Rajyam rather releasing it after Parama Veera Chakra. Sadly, Sri Rama Rajyam didn't fare well at the box office and therefore there are no takers for Adhinayakudu.

That is the reason for delaying this movie for so long. Even now the release date is yet to be confirmed. This film will only see light if buyers come forward to buy it or producer dares to release it on his own. There is an interesting scoop about this film that is making rounds in film nagar circles.
